About this Event
Cook Smart, Eat Smart keeps it simple—simple healthy preparation techniques, simple ingredients, and simple equipment. Each of the 8 class sessions contains several basic cooking techniques, like grilling, sauteing, and roasting, and other topics related to eating and preparing meals at home. Cook Smart, Eat Smart also provides tips for stretching your food dollar while still eating healthy.
Topics and techniques covered include: roasting, marinades, stir frying, basic food safety, knife skills, portion control, baking, one-pot meals, shopping, reading nutrition labels, building your pantry, and so much more!
This class is free and suitable for adults and older teens. Sessions will meet weekly on Wednesdays from February 3 to March 24 via zoom, from 11am - 1pm.

This class is presented in partnership by N.C. Cooperative Extension, Burke, Rutherford, Haywood, Henderson, and Transylvania Centers. Citizens of any county are welcome!
