Cook by the Book

In these classes you will cook menus from some of Catherine's favorite cookbooks. Some of these books have been around for a while and some are newer. All of these recipes will teach you relevant skills you can use everyday in the kitchen. We will sit down to a multi course meal when we are done cooking. Wine and beer will be available for purchase to enjoy with your meal.

Nov 18 Friday Chez Panisse: Pasta, Pizza & Calzone: Alice Waters

When I first decided I wanted to go to cooking school my parents took me across the bay to Berkeley to go to Alice Water's restaurant Chez Panisse. It was 1982 or 1983 and all I know is that is changed my life and how I thought about food. In 1984 this book was published and I have had it ever since. We will be making homemade fettuccine with wild mushrooms and prosciutto; Homemade pizza dough for pizza Margherita (tomatoes, basil and fresh mozzarella); pizza with sausage and peppers and finish with Chez Panisse calzone (goat cheese, prosciutto and herbs).
