Event Details

Convox is a friendly, relaxed day (9am-8pm), full of presentations by a small group of attendees who are all invited to share what they are into. Have you read a great book, do you have a crazy idea, are you passionate about something? Come share what you "dig", or just come to attend and listen - either way, it'll be a blast.

What's on the agenda? See a partial list below. We'll have around 10 twenty-minute talks, or we may do a lightning round, "teach me something", panels, interviews, or whatever crazy idea you can come up with.

This will be the third edition of the conference, so the best way to get an idea of what will happen is to visit the websites for IfCon0.1 (from 2013) and Convox 2014.

Speaker list so far:

  • Nate Moser - "Generative Art: a Systemic Approach to Manufacturing Inspirado"
  • Aaron Weinstein - "Checking Out: Moving Forward During Times of Transition"
  • Maria Stone - Either "The Benefits and Pitfalls of Storytelling" or "What if Spain and Russia had Never Ceded California?"
  • Pravin Mahajan - "The Why of Busyness"
  • Olga Bergstrom - "The Importance of Love and Compassion in Moving the Human Race Forward"
  • Scott Banachowski - insights from the productivity literature
  • Kyle Jennings - topic TBD
  • Chris LuVogt - Either "How Striving Gives Life Meaning" or "Yoga: It's Not (Just) for Posers"

If you would like to reserve a slot to present, please contact Chris directly.

Convox 2015 is a BYO Schwag event - purchase your swanky conference schwag on Zazzle. Want a kind of schwag that hasn't been pre-created? Just ask Chris!

For attendees that chose to spend the night, a variety of accommodations, ranging from lodge rooms to rustic cabins and tent cabins to flat out RV or tent camping, are available onsite at Costanoa. Note that only Lodge rooms have in-room bathrooms (and a limited number of cabins have in-room half-baths). All other accommodations make use of central "comfort stations" that have restrooms and showers.

Registration fees cover conference facility rental as well as breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner on Saturday.
