Event description

Description

When we connect with people, what’s left behind after the conversation ends is the way we make someone else feel. It’s not our words or our advice. It’s that the other person knows that they have truly been seen and that they matter. This is the lasting legacy of having conversations that connect.

Age Better in Sheffield is a Big Lottery funded initiative aiming to created more connected communities across Sheffield. We think that people (of all ages) will be able to age better in Sheffield, if we are more connected to each other and our local areas.

This session is a short introduction to what it means to connect; it aims to give you some simple and highly effective techniques to help you to become more connected and to create connection with others. The session is delivered by Sophie Stephenson from The Thinking Project; Sophie is a qualified Time to Think practitioner, one of only 15 in the world!

The session is open to anyone. You can come in a work context, or a personal context.. you could invite friends, colleagues, family members.

After the session we hope you will go on to create more connections and to give the gift of attention to people in your life. But importantly, there are no commitments; you're not signing yourself up to anything, but we hope you'll want to use your new skills to good effect!
