Event description

Description

Join us for a special evening to celebrate the US release of Zaitoun: Recipes and Stories from the Palestinian Kitchen with an intimate dinner featuring recipes from the cookbook and a conversation about Palestinian culture and politics between author Yasmin Khan and Palestinian chef & activist Reem Assil.

Zaitoon is Arabic for olive- the most emblemetic ingredient of the Palestinian kitchen and symbol of Palestinian culture, life, and history. Yasmin brilliantly traces traditions of Palestine from olive grove-dappled Jenin to seafood-focused, resilient Gaza. She sheds light on both the harsh realities of everyday life along with Palestine’s unrelenting passion and insatiable appetite. Her cookbook was voted by The Guardian, The Observer and the BBC Food Programme as one of the best cookbooks of the year.

We will be offering an optional wine pairing featuring wines from Cremisan Winery in Bethlehem for an additional $25. We'll be selling a limited supply of cookbooks for Yasmin to sign at the event; make sure to secure your copy in advance by purchasing a combo ticket below!
