Conversation with Practices
w/ Jeremy Till

━━━

The World Transformation Conference concludes the 2018 edition of the Flemish-Brussels part of IABR–2018+2020–THE MISSING LINK, but primarily concerns the start of a new phase that is focused on 2020. These two days are the perfect opportunity to reflect on how both the design practice and innovative spatial-social platforms are evolving in light of the ever-increasing goals.

The changing design practice is central to the exhibition ‘The Future is a Practice’, in the former bank of the WTC. It shows how a growing number of practices transform in light of the major goals we face. They start from anthropological fieldwork or natural dynamics, or create new raw materials from waste. On 5 October, the Conversation with Practices took place in that context, on the role of architecture culture and practice in the structural transformation of our environment.

On Thursday December 13th we will resume this conversation with Jeremy Till as guest speaker (Central Saint Martins, University of Arts London). Till became known as the author of three books titled “Flexible Housing”, “Spatial Agency, Other ways of doing architecture” and “Architecture Depends”, which were all three awarded the RIBA President’s Award for Research.
After this evening lecture he will talk with designers from the Eurodelta, moderated by Véronique Patteeuw (OASE Journal for Architecture).
