Description

CONVERGENCE
Solving Data Challenges Together.

Did you know that 90% of an organization’s success with machine learning and artificial intelligence has more to do with logistics than it does mathematical brilliance?

As a result, the solutions added to handle machine learning frameworks often only make the problems more profound.

Join MapR Data Technologies in the discussion on the value of exploiting data assets via machine learning and artificial intelligence to drive business performance and transformation. Anoop Dawar, VP Product Management, MapR Data Technologies, will explore how companies leverage a rendezvous architecture to solve many of the ongoing problems encountered in the deployment of machine learning models.

MapR Convergence offers attendees opportunities to network and interact with industry experts, MapR customers and partners. Register TODAY to be part of the discussion as we explore how the infrastructure of a converged data platform directly affects a company’s machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities.

We look forward to seeing you in Portland!

Featured Sessions

"A Whole New Way to Think About Your Next-Gen Applications," Anoop Dawar, Vice President Product Management, MapR Data Technologies

Organizations struggling to build applications to harness all of their data are also likely to face challenges with gathering real-time data, building intelligent models and reliably deploying these applications at scale. Classic relational databases are unable to handle modern data-intensive workloads, and NoSQL databases can’t provide the breadth of capabilities required for diverse enterprise applications. In this session, Anoop Dawar explains how customers using a converged data platform are succeeding at creating breakthrough apps for the enterprise. Converged capabilities ranging from cloud-scale data stores, powerful databases and integrated persisted streaming create new possibilities for enterprise developers looking to architect, develop, and deploy applications that were impossible until now.

"Machine Learning Logistics," Anoop Dawar, Vice President Product Management, MapR Data Technologies

Did you know that success with machine learning or artificial intelligence often has more to do with good housekeeping than with mathematical brilliance? The dirty little secret is that 90% of the effort goes into the logistics rather than the actual machine learning. That large percentage derives from many factors such as the need to stage and deploy multiple versions of each model, the need to carefully collect and curate updated training data, and the need to monitor model performance. Lately scale, speed and the need to handle multiple machine learning frameworks simultaneously, make the problem more difficult. Anoop will introduce the basic development of a rendezvous architecture that solves many of the problems that accompany continuous deployment of machine learning models. He will share techniques for model deployment, management, monitoring and comparison, and host an open dialogue discussion focused on next steps for this new solution.

"Artificial Intelligence, Limitless Possibilities," Dr. Atif Farid Mohammad, Ph.D., Data Science Adjunct Professor, UNC Charlotte

We live in a world of unanticipated changes. As humans, we possess an experiential number of memories, each composed of unique parameters and variables, which serve as our own time-tested "data sets." Our every day life is influenced by various societal elements, all which ultimately impact the decisions we make and the path we chart. Recently machine learning and artificial intelligence have become buzzwords. In this session, Atif will explore how like humans, artificial intelligence, runs off of these data sets which ultimately determine the outcome.

"DataOps in Action," Ian Downard, Senior Technical Engineer, MapR Data Technologies

What are some of the real logistical challenges that organizations consistently encounter when incorporating machine learning capabilities into their infrastructure? Throughout this session, MapR's Ian Downard will share real customer experiences with deploying machine learning into an existing infrastructure, and also explore how leveraging a Docker via direct access to a converged data platform can simplify even the most intensive tasks such as data wrangling, model development and cross-team collaboration.

"Building Big Data Platforms for Better Business Decisions,"Manny Puentes, Founder & CEO, Rebel AI

“Big Data” is no longer a buzzword. Businesses big and small that don’t invest now in big data technologies risk getting left behind in today’s data-driven marketplace. But businesses still need to be strategic when building their data platforms. This presentation will discuss how Rebel AI uses technologies like Hadoop, Tez, Spark, Kafka, Cascading, Oozie, and Druid to build platforms that can process highly transactional data and present it back to the business in real-time.
