Event description

Description

As rising leaders and black graduate and professional students at Yale, we have not only the opportunity, but responsibility to support one another's dreams and pursuits. Yet, so often we get caught up in the "doing" of life, that we lose sight of "being". Being together and building authentic relationships with one another is crucial--how can we learn to support the dreams and passions of our classmates if we never take the time to pause and listen to what these dreams are?

Convene, Chill & Collab is a 2-hour dinner event intended to create that moment of pause (and hopefully inspire many more). This event is an opportunity for black students from across all graduate and professional schools and the diaspora to:

1) Convene: What better way to convene than over a delicious dinner? :)

2) Chill: As we eat, we will have conversation prompts that will allow us to go deeper than simply knowing each other's names and hobbies (e.g. what's at stake for us being black students in our particular disciplines?)

3) Collab: As we hear our individual stories unravel, we will begin to see how our dreams/hopes/desires intersect, ultimately allowing us to learn how to identify ways in which we can leverage our talents and knowledge as a joint community.

If this sounds of interest to you, click the RSVP button--We hope you can join us!
