WORKSHOP CONTENT:

Social workers in their multi-faceted roles as educators, advocates, and facilitators, encounter many different types of people each day including individuals eligible for veterans’ benefits. This presentation will include long-term-care benefits and disability ratings with the Veterans Administration. The presentation information will add to the social work professional’s supply of assistive information and become an important component in the social work professional’s search for the highest level of well-being for clients. This presentation will enable social work professionals to empower eligible clients to access an available and under-utilized financial benefit. The availability of such benefit will promote the client’s greater access to appropriate health care, including medical, psychological, and other wellness care. The clients receipt of this benefit will also promote the maintenance of greater functioning and the enhancement of overall wellness by relieving some financial and other stressors experienced by clients and members of the clients’ families. Additionally, the information in this workshop will broaden the social work professional’s perspective and foster cooperation and communication.
