Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

May 10th 10 am- 6 pm

  • In this course therapists will be introduced the benefits of IASTM and how to incorporate it in their practice.
  • We will discuss the the origin of “scraping” along with past and present theories. Types of tools, pros and cons of each will be discussed as well.
  • Review of basic fascia layers and physiology of trauma and scar tissue formation will be given
  • Therapists will learn scanning techniques with the tool to find restrictions as well as what appropriate side of the tool works best per area of the body
  • ​Therapists will learn general hands on applications throughout the body to effectively break down fascia restrictions and scar tissue to facilitate healing, improve mobility, and diminish pain. Specific techniques for IT Band syndrome, Shin splints, plantar fasciitis and rotator cuff tendonitis will be demonstrated and practiced
  • Group literature review on evidence based indications of IASTM to help validate treatment and educate clients will be discussed.
  • Each therapist will also be given a multi sided tool to use in class and take home for their own practice

Price: $225.00 per person (lab fees and tool included in tuition price)
