Sales Have Ended
The CHP Group (CHP) is excited to announce our upcoming continuing education opportunity for integrative healthcare providers in Medford!
We have created four hours of continuing education specifically to meet the needs of Oregon providers – including two hours of record-keeping for chiropractors, as required by the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners (OBCE) for 2016, and two hours of Cultural Competency for all providers as recommended by the Oregon Health Authority.
Please note that if you are NOT a chiropractor, the CE will start at 3:15 pm with Cultural Competency for Integrative Healthcare Provider. This class is for all disciplines.

1:00 pm - 3:00 pm | Record-keeping for Chiropractors
3:00 - 3:15 pm | Break and other attendees arrive
3:15 - 5:15 pm | Cultural Competency for Integrative Healthcare Providers
5:15 - 7:00 pm | Networking Event with hosted drinks and appetizers
Record-Keeping for Chiropractors
This two-hour session, taught by CHP’s Corporate Medical Director, Dr. Steve Sebers, has been created to cover the required OBCE elements for chiropractic record-keeping. At the conclusion of the session the attendee will:
Be familiar with the Record Keeping Compliance Checklist (OBCE document)
Understand the importance of the clinical record with respect to the patient and the clinician.
Know all of the required elements of the clinical record and understand the preferred manner of documenting them.
Understand and properly document informed consent and medical necessity.
Have a general understanding of the benefits and pitfalls of digital health record systems.
What is “Cultural Competency”? How do providers ensure that they are culturally competent? Minga Guerrero, CHP’s Regional Medical Director and past president of the OBCE will use this two-hour session to explain how cultural competency is a vital component of any integrative healthcare provider’s ethical training and can encourage better provider/patient relationships.
History of Cultural Competency CE in Oregon - In 2015, the Oregon Legislature commissioned the Oregon Health Authority to oversee the creation of Cultural Competency training for applicable healthcare providers in Oregon. While this training is not yet mandatory for providers, healthcare boards are encouraging their providers to take Cultural Competency training in 2016..
Bonus - Networking Event!
Join us for hosted drinks and appetizers at Elements Tapas Bar (just three blocks from RCC/SOU) after the continuing education concludes and visit with fellow providers and CHP staff! If you’ve attended one of our networking events in the past, you know what a great time is had by all!
Continuing Education Credits
The CHP Group is a leader in offering continuing education opportunities for providers! We are looking forward to seeing our network providers and new faces at this year’s events. Attendees will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the class.
