About this event
Contextual Safeguarding was developed by the University of Bedfordshire to recognise and respond to the external risks to children, when abuse is outside of the home.
"Contextual Safeguarding expands the objectives of child protection systems in recognition that young people are vulnerable to abuse beyond their front doors."
Learning Objectives
- Learn what Contextual Safeguarding is and how it works in practise
- Learn about the history of Contextual Safeguarding
- Learn how to complete a Contextual Safeguarding assessment and develop an intervention plan
- Understand the Pace Relational Safeguarding Model
- Understand how Contextual Safeguarding and Relational Safeguarding can work in unison to create a holistic, robust safeguarding plan for children at risk of exploitation
