Event description

Description

Think you have what it takes to be a contestant?

Bring a batch of your vegan chili and get ready for some competition. There's cash prizes, certificates and trophies!

This year we'll have two categories: professional (you are paid to make vegan food) or community (you're a great home cook who'd like to compete).

All contestants preparing food are expected to follow these food safety guidelines.

Note: we will be in touch with you about the items below, and will need to get information about the amperage of your crock pot before your registration is finalized.

How many people can be on a team?

Up to four--your registration covers entry for up to four people on your team

How much chili do I need to make?

How are winners determined?

Attendees rate each chili they sample. This year the processs will be done by attendees on their phones or computers we provide. We will ensure test runs and quality checking prior to the event.

What are the prizes?

Cash for the top winners in the community and the professional categories ($75 for community, $150 for professional), as well as a trophy you get to keep and display for the year. Certificates will be awarded for runners up and possibly for additional category types this year.

Will I get chili?

Each person on your team will get a bowl of "people's chili" made by our volunteers, as well as a pitcher of water, before the contest starts.
