Dear Black Parent Group,
How's your summer going so far? Ours is going well. Hopefully, this contest will liven’ your week up a little bit. The BPG and mentoring program the R.E.E.K Program was blessed with an indoor Suite at the Twins game vs. NY Yankees Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 1:10 PM. We want you and your family to join us at no expense to you. All your food and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided in the suite.
Unfortunately, we can't take everyone so please RSVP if interested and we will draw names. Please do not RSVP without talking to your family 1st to make sure no one else has any plans for midafternoon. The game is early so there is still time to enjoy late night fireworks and spend time with other people in your family. Limit 4 game tickets and suite passes for the winning family.
The suite menu will include at no cost to you:
Soda & Water
How can your Family Stay Connected with the Black Parent Group?
Important Update: The BPG is no longer having bi-weekly meetings. However, we are still in existence. We hope to provide your family with educational tools by continuing to publish books relevant to the Black family and by posting on our Facebook page tips and resources.
Our published books include: A Black Parent’s Memoir, How to Pick yourself up in the Word of God and our latest is a book series about children accomplishing tasks with ADHD. Our books can be purchased here: www.tripleapressbooks.com.
Besides our books and social media, we have several others ways you can stay connected with us and other parents. Mothers, you’re invited to join African American Women Socializing. We just went on a relaxing and fun retreat! Last, we always have wanted to find a way to help people of color financially and God has blessed us to do so, with Webb Model and Talent Agency and Speakers Bureau. Since starting in January we have helped people of color begin their entertainment careers and we've never seen so many smiles.
We are following in the footsteps of so many trailblazers that don't mind having multiple steams of income and the freedom to live each day like it’s your last, never sitting on an idea God has blessed you with.
Where do we go from here? Here are a few of the new and existing BPG goals
- 2 large BPG parent meetings/events per year
- Continue to use books, social media, and other educational resources to help provide parenting advice and tips to parents
- Give mother’s a chance to unwind with other girlfriends
- Provide families opportunities to attend low cost and free events
- Partner with other community organizations and help promote their events
- Speak on parenting at your organization.
- Men, we haven't forgot you there are several resources for men here in Minnesota; it’s a myth there are not. See for yourselves http://www.mnfathers.org on that note, have a Happy Father’s Day!
RSVP now to enter the contest to join us at the Twins game and suite.
