The YC's classes are an accumulation of movement integration, sensation/awareness, and strength building and end with learning material from the company repertoire. Leading in and out of various states of movement, the class focus on qualitative and dynamic research in the body. Participants will push towards physical exhaustion and find balance inside of technique. Working with various practices of improvisation, the class touches technical forms and participants approach these forms with a heightened sense of the self. We will play with dialoguing movement vocabularies from The YC's rep while pushing towards a communicative body. This workshop is intended for intermediate to advanced level dancers.

Participants will join company member Thomas House for this 2 hour class. Thomas was raised in Virginia Beach, VA. He received a BFA in dance from Purchase College, SUNY and freelanced in NYC for 3 years before moving to Seattle in early 2017. He has performed nationally and internationally with many companies including Aszure Barton & Artists, Loni Landon Projects, KT Niehoff and most recently toured to Colombia, Paris and Sadler's Wells in London with Kyle Abraham's company Abraham in Motion. Thomas is a certified Cunningham Technique® teacher through the Merce Cunningham Trust.
