About this event
Join us for a very casual weekend retreat designed for re-centering and renewal. Adults in their 20s and 30s from around Western Washington are invited to Dash Point, just south of Seattle and right on the coast, to experience a wide array of contemplative practices in community.
Though only 25 miles from downtown Seattle, the retreat center is located in a peaceful, natural setting of 39 secluded acres of woods, on a beachfront bluff overlooking Puget Sound.
This retreat will offer:
- An introduction to various forms of contemplative practice
- An opportunity to go inward, to cultivate a more intimate relationship with God and self
- An invitation to slow down, pause
- A shift away from a word-centric practice to discover/remember the wisdom of silence and the "still, small voice" of God
- An opportunity to be in community with other seekers
- A time to try something different, to experiment with new practices that have the potential to deepen faith in unexpected ways and complement a more traditional practice
Feedback from last year's retreat:
"My favorite part was definitely singing Taizé services together! I was really able to enter into the contemplative space and it was a beautiful group worship experience. I also really enjoyed the holy hike!"
"Favorite parts of the retreat? …Meeting people, good things for my body, mind, and spirit, like balanced meals, restful sleep, prayer of many types."
"The setting was fabulous -- I truly enjoyed the Taizé and singing services led by Ann and the music team."
The 2023 leadership team includes:
- Ann Strickland, Musician & Liturgist, Grace, Bainbridge Island
- Hannah Hochkeppel, Contemplative Art, Saint Mark's Cathedral
- Luke Abdow, Centering Prayer & Holy Breadmaking, Saint Mark's Cathedral
- Michael Klucas, Welcome Team & Breathwork Practice

The Retreat Center is 25 miles south of Seattle and less than a mile from Dash Point State Park, a 400 acre green space. Our Holy Hike will take advantage of some of the 11 miles of forest trails there.
Taizé-style service of song and chants, held each evening. Bring your instrument and join the all-comers music team!
The view from the retreat center. Many of the guest rooms have water views as do the meeting and dining rooms.
