Description

Consultation on the Dynamics and Skills of Advanced Clinical Practice: Integrating Science (Evidenced-Based Practices) into the Artistry of Social Work Clinical Practice.

Dr. Lawrence Shulman

Six (6) Category I Clincial CEUs approved by NASW NH Approval #3340

Description: This workshop will be limited to twelve participants allowing each to share practice issues with current and past clients. It will combine presentation, discussion and case example analysis and will function as a mutual aid support group for experienced practitioners.. The core practice principles of the Interactional Practice Model will be shared throughout the day and then applied to different settings (e.g., hospitals, schools, private practice), with different populations (e.g., children, adults, seniors) using different modalities (e.g., individual, family and group), dealing with different problems (e.g., mental illness, health issues, trauma) with specific examples selected in response to the practice of the workshop participants. An additional theme will include attention to some of the current Evidenced-Based Practices with a focus on how to use (EBP’s) strategies and interventions by integrating them into the social work clinical model. Attention will also be paid to working with other professionals who have an impact on the social worker’s clients.

Learning Objectives

1. To be able to conceptualize the core Interaction Model (IM) of Advanced Direct Practice

2. To be able to adapt the IM model to different settings, populations, problems, modalities of practice.
