Join us as we demonstrate outside the Scottish Parliament, calling on the Scottish Government to consign snares to the history books.
About this event
The Scottish Government is currently reviewing Scotland’s snaring legislation. We want to send a strong message to them that the public wants a full snaring ban and we'd love to see as many supporters there as possible.
On Saturday the 17th September from 11:30am-1pm we will demonstrate outside the Scottish Parliament, calling on the Scottish Government to make history and ban snares. It is time to consign snares to the history books.
We will have a group of actors posing as a selection of different species of animals in fake snares outside the Parliament, with our brilliant supporters standing behind them with placards and a banner asking the Scottish Government to make history and ban snares.
We are also delighted to have a selection of speakers, and videos in support of our demonstration from an exciting selection of celebrities, to conclude the demonstration.
Speakers include:
- Bob Elliot, OneKind Director
- Ellie Stirling, Scottish Badgers
- Ariane Burgess MSP
- Colin Smyth MSP
- Maggie Chapman MSP
We’re excited to have virtual support from the following celebrities:
- TV Presenter and Naturalist Chris Packham
- Actor Peter Egan
- Actor Alan Cumming
Please note that we will also have a photographer and videographer in attendance to capture the day.
Please come and join us and show the Scottish Government just how much support there is for a snaring ban in Scotland. Together let’s make history!
