Description

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:

1) To provide information, resources, networking opportunities, and a forum for discussing wildlife conservation and restoration in and around the urban developments.

2) To introduce the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) Office of Conservation Planning Services (CPS), and to explain CPS’ role as a resource for those making land use planning decisions involving fish and wildlife habitat.

3) To inform participants about additional FWC resources and initiatives available to assist with conservation planning, including those within Florida’s new Imperiled Species Management Plan.

PRESENTERS: Professor Mark Hostetler (University of Florida); Laura DiGruttolo and Josh Cucinella (Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission)

* Registered participants will receive a 126-page resource manual developed by Mark Hostetler and associated UF/IFAS personnel with detailed strategies and resources to help one to create communities that conserve wildlife and wildlife habitat over the long term. Participants will also receive a certificate as proof of attendance and will be eligible for up to 3 LEED CE credits (self-reporting). 3 AICP credits have been applied for as well.
