Conservation Site Assessment & Planning

This workshop builds a foundation of skills useful in conducting site assessments and developing resource management plans; Participants will:
- Learn how to conduct a rapid site assessment
- Discover sources of information useful when conducting site assessments
- Learn a process for prioritizing conservation/management needs
- Identify site-specific threats to natural resources
- Develop management objectives and design management strategies that effectively address these objectives
- Identify components of effective management plans based on program needs and goals
- Learn about a variety of management plans used by county, state, and federal agencies
Presented in a hybrid format (both the online and in-person trainings are required)
Approximately 8 hours, to be completed at your own pace anytime between February 1 - 24, 2017.
Two day in-person training on March 1 & 2, 2017 at Ordway Swisher Biological Station in Melrose FL (email coordinator for detailed agenda).
$275 (does not include lodging)
Lodging is available for $45/person/night at Gold Head Branch State Park (2 people per cabin; NATA will make reservations and match roommates). Please note there is no internet access at the park.
If you prefer to secure your own lodging: downtown Gainesville is ~30 minute drive; other options include the Waldo Inn & Suites, in Waldo, FL (~20 minutes)
NATA will provide lunch on March 1 & 2; participants are responsible all other meals. Coffee, water, and snacks will also be provided throughout the workshop.
There will be an optional group dinner and campfire at Gold Head Branch State Park on March 1st.
Must be processed through the Eventbrite website at the time of registration, there are 2 payment options:
Pay with a CREDIT CARD online at the time of registration on the Eventbrite website; the confirmation email contains your reciept.
Pay by CHECK* via mail by requesting an INVOICE at the time of registration on the Eventbrite site (the invoice will be emailed to you within 3 days; the payment is due within 10 days and no later than Jan 30th).
*If you intend to pay by credit card, do NOT select the invoice option - those selecting the invoice option that later wish to pay by credit card will be required to re-register and will be placed on the waitlist if the course is at capacity.

All cancellation requests are subject to a $50 fee; NO refunds will be offered after registration closes (JAN 30, 2017)
