About the Presenting Organizations:

The Norwalk Land Trust was created in 1973 to acquire and preserve open space for the residents of Norwalk, now and in the future. We currently steward 100 acres of land, spread out over 30 parcels. https://norwalklandtrust.org/

The Norwalk River Valley Trail (NRVT) will be the longest trail running through the Heart of Fairfield County - 30 miles connecting Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk, Connecticut to Rogers Park in Danbury, passing through Wilton, Ridgefield, and Redding along the way. Today, the completed trail is 8.2 miles in Norwalk and Wilton, with an additional 3.4 miles under construction in 2021 in Redding, Norwalk, and Wilton. https://www.nrvt-trail.com/

The Norwalk River Watershed Association, incorporated in 1996, is a non-profit membership organization whose mission is to improve the water quality and fish and wildlife habitats of the 40,000-acre Norwalk River watershed; to restore the riverbanks, meadows and forests through invasive plant abatement and promotion of native species; to encourage recreational use of the river, the surrounding open space and its trails; and to promote research, legislative advocacy, education, cooperation, and action on the part of the stakeholders in the seven watershed towns in CT (Ridgefield, Redding, Wilton, New Canaan, Weston, and Norwalk) and NY (Lewisboro). https://norwalkriver.org/

Founded in 2003, the Norwalk Tree Alliance (NTA) is the primary advocate for tree canopy health in the city of Norwalk, Connecticut. Through events and campaigns the NTA plants native trees, provides environmental education, and protects Norwalk's urban forest. Our partnership with the City of Norwalk is integral to the Tree City USA distinction that Norwalk has earned for over a decade. https://norwalktreealliance.com/

The Oak Hills Park Natural Advisory Committee (OHPNAC) is a volunteer body of Norwalk residents formed in 2015 whose mission is to advocate for the continued conservation, protection, enjoyment, and sustainability of the natural environment at Oak Hills Park. Our efforts are aimed at bringing awareness to this special nature preserve in our community. https://www.oakhillsgc.com/rest/nature-advisory-committe
