About this event

CONNECTIONS NORTH is an annual conference devoted to conflict simulation, wargaming, and other serious games. It is intended for national security professionals, policymakers, researchers, educators, game designers, university students, and others interested in the use of serious games for analysis, planning, education, and training.

This year, the conference will be held at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. The War Museum will be opening a new wargaming exhibition in June, and conference registration will include entrance to the museum on the day of the conference. Conference participants are also invited to a special Museum reception on the evening on June 8—you'll find details here.

Connections North is part of the global network of Connections professional wargaming conferences in the US, UK, Netherlands, France (Serious Games Network), Australia, and Japan. Along with many others, we are cosponsors of the Derby House Principles on diversity and inclusion in professional wargaming. Support for this conference from Defence Research and Development Canada and the Canadian War Museum is gratefully acknowledged.

The general agenda for the conference can be seen below. A more detailed listing of presenters, presentations, and biographies can be found at https://paxsims.wordpress.com/2023/04/30/connections-north-2023-conference-programme/
