Event description

Description

CCVO’s Connections Conference is an annual event that brings together over 300 professionals, leaders, and changemakers from Alberta’s nonprofit, business, and government sectors for a day of learning and dialogue to turn ideas into actions. It is an annual event dedicated to sharing innovative best practices and thought leadership that inspires action to tackle complex problems from a systems perspective.

About Connections Conference 2020

Last fall, the term ‘civil society’ was spotlighted by the media, with the new provincial government committing to ‘harnessing the power of civil society'. Though this term may seem familiar, what does it mean for Albertans and, more specifically, what does it mean for nonprofit organizations?

We all play an important role in civil society, working together to find solutions to complex problems in our community. This year, the focus of the 9th annual Connections Conference is to explore the changing nature of civil society, and the future of the nonprofit sector during times of uncertainty.

On April 22, breakout discussions and open space working sessions will give you and your colleagues opportunities to actively build a shared understanding of trends affecting Alberta’s future civil society – including the role you and your organization play in this future.

How can we promote a more cohesive civil society during uncertain times? What are the nonprofit sector’s ‘next first moves’? Join us at Connections 2020 to reflect, connect, and discuss these next steps with leaders from diverse sectors of our community – working together to create a stronger Alberta civil society.

Join us for this informative and interactive day, where you will:

  • Reflect, explore, and gather insights from thought-provoking discussion on issues that have direct implications for the nonprofit sector and civil society in Alberta.

  • Have a voice, and collaborate with others as we work to determine direction and develop next first steps as a sector.

  • Connect with current colleagues, and make new contacts over the course of the day.

  • Collect concrete takeaways that you can apply to your work.

  • Receive an exclusive post-conference summary package.
