Questions

Conference Overview

Locally and nationally there is growing support to prevent disease and promote health to improve the health of both individuals (children and adults) and communities. To achieve improved health for all, evidence-based policy, systems and environmental change is necessary. However, how do we move from theoretical frameworks to practical application? More collaboration across entire communities (i.e., cities, counties, states) is the key to success. In order for any health improvement efforts to work, it’s clear that all stakeholders must work together to create communities that foster and encourage healthy living for all.

The conference will provide a forum for discussion of innovative approaches and solutions, to help engage communities, maintain momentum, measure impact and sustain your efforts. The event will help advocates learn from others who are working toward the same goals, facing the same barriers, and experiencing similar successes and milestones. Join us to learn and connect as we share tools and strategies that will strengthen your efforts to improve the health of your community.

Goals

1. Discuss effective approaches for engaging a community.

2. Provide practical strategies and tools to create replicable and sustainable community health improvement.

3. Discover methods for developing infrastructure and measuring impact to facilitate community change.

Target Audience

Stakeholders in health and wellness, including community, health care and business leaders, program staff and others interested in improving community health.
