Connecting the Dots Conference 2017
Thu, April 13, 2017, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM EDT
Please join us for conference on disability-related topics. Keynote speaker Boaz Nelson, from Picasso Einstein in Pembroke Pines, FL will present "The #JobCreators Movement: Simple & Sustainable Employment"
"What is the #JobCreators Movement? Education to parents/caregivers and professionals on how to create simple, sustainable and most importantly, meaningful jobs by way of our 'PersonVentured' self-employment model. Picasso Einstein’s mission is not to create entrepreneurs out of every single individual with developmental disabilities. Instead, our main focus is to provide information, tools, and awareness so that self-employment is offered as a viable first option, instead of the last option. All persons with disabilities simply deserve choices like all of us. It is not only their civic right, it is their basic human right."
Along with this terrific keynote, the conference offers two subsequent breakout sessions, including a variety of topics such as: Making Employment Meaningful to the Person: How?, Navigating the iBudget Waiver, Mental Health issues in the IDD population, Guardianship Options, Self-Directed IEPs, ILRC of NEFL Programs & Services, Financial strategies and options, Parent Panel, Preparing for Independent Living, Q & A with APD Staff, ABLE United, and Disability Rights Programs & Services. Also a great lineup of Community Resource agencies as vendors.
