ABOUT THE EVENT:

9:30am-11:00am: "Exploring the Connection between Trauma, Eating Disorders, and Substance Use Disorder" - Layne Roland, LCSW (1.5 Clinical)

11:00am-12:00pm: Lunch Provided/Networking

12:00-1:30pm: Part 1: "The Physiology of Exercise and Mental Health" and Part 2: "Lifestyle Coaching, Habit Formation, Dangers of Cross Addiction and Supplement Abuse "- Travis Weisbrod, ACSM EP-C, ACE CPT, NASM PES, ACE BCS, NSCA CSCS (1.5 General)

Layne Roland, LCSW:

Layne Roland is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in nutrition. In 2011, Layne graduated with a BS in Nutritional Sciences/Dietetics from Louisiana State University. She then went to work for Women’s Center for Wellness as a health and wellness coach providing nutritional counseling. The following year she returned to LSU to complete the Master of Social Work program. In 2014, Layne graduated with honors from Louisiana State University School of Social Work.

In her private practice, Layne specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, trauma, mental health, body image, self-harm, borderline personality disorder, addiction, women’s issues, health and wellness. She also has professional experience in providing treatment for behavioral health, addictions, co-occurring disorders, and personality disorders. Layne provides individual, family, and group therapy for adolescents and adults. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic interventions including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Systems, and Feminist Therapy. Layne believes that therapy should be collaborative, individualized, and strengths based. She focuses on treating the whole person and helping them create a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

Travis Weisbrod, ACSM EP-C, ACE CPT, NASM PES, ACE BCS, NSCA CSCS:

Travis is the Wellness Director at St. Christopher's Addiction Wellness located in Baton Rouge, LA. He has a Master's of Science in Kinesiology with a focus in Clinical Exercise Physiology. He has worked in the fitness industry for 10+ years and in the mental health/substance misuse industry for 8 years. Travis brings an incredible amount of researched data and knowledge from his 8 years at St. Christopher's. His presentation will touch upon the benefits and mechanisms behind the positive impacts of exercise on mental health and mental illness, Tiny Habits Method of behavior change and practice the method for themselves as well as the signs, symptoms, and dangers of supplement misuse and explore exercise addiction.
