Event description

Description

Join CONNECT Madison to learn more about JP Cullen, a 5th generation family-owned construction management and general contracting company.

For over 125 years, JP Cullen has taken on the challenging jobs in Madison and the entire state of WI as well as across the country. Currently, JP Cullen is building the UW Madison’s School of Music and Meat Muscle Laboratory as well as the Judge Doyle Square Parking Ramp and renovating the Madison Municipal Building. Other key projects in Madison include the renovation and restoration of the State Capitol, renovations and new parking garage at UW Hospital, renovation of Camp Randall Stadium, and construction of Epic’s campus.

Jeannie Cullen Schultz will tell us how she has used her experience in college athletics to shape her professional career. Learn how Jeannie and her team have exceeded planned revenues and profits every year. The first fiscal year, they exceeded their plan by 400%, the second year by 200%, and they are off to a great start for this fiscal year. In fact, 100% of their clients are now repeat clients – including working in every hospital in Madison, which is quite an accomplishment in such a short period.

JP Cullen has been recognized for their use of technology and prefabrication to improve quality and safety on the job sites. Pete Scharenbroch, Project Manager for JP Cullen’s EPIC projects and BIM/Prefab expert, will teach us how JP Cullen is doing things faster, better and getting more value for the dollar, they spend in the field.

Jeannie Cullen Schultz

Jeannie Cullen Schultz

At age 34, Jeannie serves as JP Cullen’s Healthcare Construction Director, a new division, and role created at JP Cullen in 2015. She is the youngest member of the JP Cullen executive team and the only woman on the board, but already she has earned the respect of both employees and management. As a future 5th generation owner to the family business, expectations are high.

In addition to taking on the leadership position for the Healthcare Division in the Madison area, Jeannie has also become the leader of the ever-growing Madison office that we opened in June of 2015. This new role requires being the face of the office, meeting with clients, architects, and community leaders and leading JP Cullen’s Dane County philanthropy and community involvement. Jeannie leads by example by being involved in a number of boards and committees in the area. She is currently:

  • St. Mary’s Hospital Madison Foundation Board
  • St. Mary’s Hospital Patient Safety & Quality Committee
  • American Heart Association – Heart walk ELT
  • Downtown Rotary member
  • Junior League of Madison Member
  • UW Carbone Cancer Center Emerging Leadership Board member and volunteer participant
  • Big Brother Big Sister Board Member
  • UW OBGYN Community Council Member
  • United Way of Dane County as a campaign leader, Rosenberry Society Member, and Council Member
  • WHEA Member
  • Brauds 2.0 Member

Jeannie has been recognized as the Top 40 under 40, Young Executive of the Year, and the Daily Reporter’s Woman in Construction of the Year.
