Description

How did the United States come to lock up more of its citizens than any other nation on earth?

Join Yale Law Professor James Forman Jr. as he diagnoses America's criminal justice crisis with both data and human stories. He'll draw on his life experience as the child of a civil rights leader, public defender, and law professor, and will also discuss research from his Pulitzer Prize-winning book, Locking Up Our Own: Crime and Punishment in Black America.

Introduction and Welcome by Rodney Robinson, 2019 National Teacher of the Year.

Reception and Book Sale/Signing to follow.

James Forman is the 2019 Order of the Coif Distinguished Visitor.
