Join us to live our values and sow seeds for peace in our community. This timely event includes speakers, Break-outs, and table dialogues to help us build a healthy community that affirms differences at school, in the workplace, and in our broader society. Professional development CEU’s will offered. Registration is from 8:30-9, event starts promptly at 9am both days.

Attend for one or both days of the conference. This event is being offered for free to those who are not able to pay, however a $20 free-will donation is suggested for those who are able to subsidize meals. Registration is required and will be limited. Please RSVP by April 22nd.

4/29 Day One: Confronting Hate in Schools

9am-2pm, lunch and refreshments provided

Day One will focus on the increase in racially charged incidents at school athletic events throughout the state. Oberlin City Schools will provide a case study to help us explore solutions and share the work happening in schools by staff, administrators, and students to confront hatred.

Other area school and lay leaders will discuss ideas to confront racism through peer to peer dialogue and examining state-wide athletic policies through an equity lens. We will examine equity and adequacy as it relates to HB 70.

4/30 Day Two: Confronting Hate in the Workplace and in Society

9am-2pm, lunch and refreshments provided

Day Two will focus on "other-isms", immigration reform, and best practices for confronting hate to create inclusive workplaces and a just society. Immigration experts will provide a case study on the ICE raids at Corso Garden Center in August. Breakout sessions will cover strategies for coping/resiliency, faith-based initiatives, personal responsibility, action steps for white allies and the challenges of equitable law enforcement.
