Conflict as Opportunity
Event Information
Description
What if our darkest conflicts became the places where the gospel light shines most brightly?
It’s no secret we live in a divided world. From the Thanksgiving table to the pew, conflict seems to be everywhere. It’s a reality that often leaves us feeling overwhelmed, hopeless and paralyzed. What can we do? How can we move forward in the midst of such polarization?
But what if there was a way to engage conflict that led to a strengthening of relationship? What if we could learn to engage challenging issues in a way that built up the body? What if (as crazy as it sounds), conflict could become a gift?
Join us on Saturday, April 28, from 12:30-4:30pm as we learn new ways to look at conflict and gain practical, tangible steps to grow in our capacity to engage others in difficult conversations. In addition to the Saturday training event, we will be offering 3 follow up sessions on Sunday evenings, May 6, 13 and 20 from 5-6:30pm. We will leave our training on Saturday with specific ways to practice what we learned. These Sunday evening sessions will be an opportunity to come back together and discuss the things we've been practicing.
The training will be led by The Colossian Forum, a non-profit whose mission is to equip people to transform messy cultural conflicts into opportunities for spiritual growth and witness. Their vision is to see a Christian community that acts Christian, especially in the face of conflict. You can learn more about them here: www.colossianforum.org
