Event description

Description

On September 30 from 11:00 to 12:30 the Comstock House will be home to some beautiful music being played by the faculty of the Concordia Music department. They will be playing a piece called Siegfried Idyll, which was composed by Richard Wagner as a birthday present for his wife Cosima in 1870, in honor of the birth of his first son Siegfried. The first playing of the piece was said to have happened on the stairs of their home in Switzerland on Christmas morning as a wake-up call for Cosima. The faculty will recreate that morning concert for the public on the Comstock House’s main staircase by playing Siegfried’s Idyll. Afterward, there will be time to enjoy refreshments and explore one of the Fargo-Moorhead area’s As it’s Concordia’s Homecoming weekend tickets will be free for Concordia students, faculty, and alumni. MNHS and HCSCC members are also free while tickets for the general public will cost $10.
