About the organizer
Concerts on the Slope is an exciting new series producing monthly chamber music performances in the picturesque, historical parish of St. John’s Episcopal Church in the heart of Park Slope, Brooklyn. The aim of this series is that audiences from all over New York City will come out to Brooklyn to escape their busy lives, sit outside and enjoy the peacefulness of the courtyard, and then come inside to enjoy some world class chamber music, featuring some of the most exciting young musicians today.
Our mission is to enrich the classical music culture in Brooklyn by presenting top-quality chamber music concerts by accomplished and emerging young artists from New York and around the world. We aim to attract, entertain, enlighten, and develop a diverse audience from the greater New York area.
The concerts at St. John’s are free of charge, but we encourage a free will offering, of which 100% is given directly to the performers. Hearing music of this caliber could cost a small fortune at Carnegie Hall or Lincoln Center, but the experience is free, and offers an intimacy not found in any of the major concert halls. We therefore ask patrons to give generously if they can, to show the appreciation to the performers, and help keep this series thriving!
