About this event
The Steinway Selection Center entrance is at the corner of Louisiana & Prairie (401 Louisiana St). You can park on-street or at the Lyric Garage or Alley Theatre Garage.
This fundraising concert will support future programs in and around Houston to perform and study and commission works by women composers.
Performers will include acclaimed Lyric Opera of Chicago baritone Ricardo Rivera-Soto, Houston Grand Opera studio alum soprano Yelena Dyachek, Maria Loudermilk, a 10-year-old 2nd-place winner of the Texas Music Teacher's Association's composition competition, ROCO founder and principal oboist Alecia Lawyer, Casulana Women's Choir of Houston, Rice University's interim Director of Opera Studies, Bethany Self, as well as Montrose Project's founder, Mary Box, associate conductor of the University of Houston's Moores Opera Center.
Program length is around 60 minutes. Please join us afterward for a reception in the Barbershop Room, a rehearsal space at the Steinway Selection Center for Houston Symphony soloists.
