Event description

“Life is about special moments, and as musicians we have the ability – and the responsibility – to create them.” – Rayna Yun Chou, creator of Concert for One.

This fall, 5,000 people like you will step into a private world for a free, one-minute musical encounter they’ll never forget. Celebrity Series of Boston’s groundbreaking Concert for One brings the experience of being an audience member to a whole new level.

It’s one musician, and one listener, for one minute. No distractions, no phone, no texts. Just a chance to listen…and be transported.

Concert for One is the creation of New England Conservatory graduate Rayna Yun Chou, who dreamed up the idea to make real connections between musicians and audience members – and help them appreciate each other. Celebrity Series brings the project to two great spots – Chinatown’s Chin Park at the foot of the Greenway in Boston, and the Harvard Science Center Plaza near Harvard Square in Cambridge. Concert for One is totally free; all you need to do is show up and enjoy.

At both locations, specially designed storage containers create a temporary art installation. One container is a gathering space with details about the project; the other is a private music studio where individual concerts happen. Visitors can enjoy other events in both neighborhoods, too. Food, and culture abound to round out your experience.

Concert for One is open daily from Sept. 20-29, 12 pm to 6 pm at both of our locations. More details are available at

Tickets are not required for this event. Simply come to the location while we are open!
