in the Greenbelt

Session II: Crazy about Chemistry 

Wednesday, October 25, 6:30 pm 

Greenbelt Nature Center, 700 Rockland Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314

Con Edison Family Science Nights in the Greenbelt will take place once a month through August, 2018.

Families are invited to gather to explore a range of science topics and activities. A few short, self-guided activities will start families thinking together, followed by a full group activity. Families with children ages 8-10 years old are welcome to register for these events. (No Scout troops or organized groups, please). Registration is required, and class size is limited; we will maintain a waiting list as sessions fill quickly.  Call 718-351-3450 to addyour name to the waitng list if you have been closed out of registering. 

Crazy about Chemistry: Chemicals make the world go around! Join Con Ed Family Science Night in the Greenbelt to learn about chemical properties through fun and engaging activities using materials from around the house.

Greenbelt Conservancy

The mission of the Greenbelt Conservancy is to promote, sustain and enhance Staten Island’s 2,800-acre Greenbelt through education, recreation, conservation and research. The Greenbelt Conservancy is a not-for-profit organization that works in partnership with NYC Parks.

The Greenbelt consists of more than 2,800 acres of public and private land in central Staten Island, and includes natural areas and traditional parks. The Greenbelt Conservancy is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1989 that works in partnership with the NYC Parks to oversee the operation, administration and public use of the parkland of the Greenbelt, the largest of New York City’s five flagship parks.  The Conservancy is dedicated to promoting conservation of the Greenbelt, to increasing public awareness, support and enjoyment of its parks and resources, and is responsible for the prudent management of its financial resources to benefit the Greenbelt.
