Computer Basic Skills For Everyone

January 26, 2019 10:00 - 4:00 PM

(1 hour for lunch)

You may be embarrassed by not knowing some basic computer skills.  Most of us are. And, that’s okay.  Let’s jump over these knowledge hurdles together.

A comfortable understanding of these computing skills will aid your genealogy.  Breezing thru the computing mine field will make ancestral research so much more fun and productive. No matter how long you have been involved in investigating your family history, confidence in your computer skills will greatly assist your exploration.

Join Ron Madson on January 26 to help you break thru your computing brick walls to help you to focus your efforts on the real work of advancing your ancestral knowledge.

We will cover PC and MAC Computers. Bring your laptop and lots of questions.

There will be a 1 hour break for lunch.

Ron Madson has 55 years of IT and image processing experience.  This solid technical base helped him develop a method for image editing and labeling, and digital organization to greatly assist all aspects of family history research.  A photographer for over 20 years, he realized his 15-year interest in genealogy could be benefited by digitizing his family history. With a BS and MS in Math, he served 7 years as the educational coordinator for the largest international IBM computer users group and for 10 years he was the technical education coordinator for an international insurance company. For 6 years, he ran the IT operation for an international corporation. He manages Eventbrite as well as co-facilitating the Family Tree Maker Special Interest Group for CGS.
