Comprehensive Lactation Internship Program 2017
** This is a multiple-date event. Please read carefully and ensure that you are certain you can attend ALL of the dates before you register. **
Taught by local, experienced IBCLCs, our lactation education program has been built from scratch to cover all areas of the IBLCE Exam Content Outline to ensure that our attendees have a well-rounded and thorough background in human lactation. Join us in 2017, our 5th year of bringing together local individuals who are passionate about improving the quality of breastfeeding support in our community. There are NO prerequisites to take this course and it is appropriate for any individual with a high school diploma or GED-equivalent.
We Offer 2 Lactation Education Options for Your Convenience in 2017
45 Hours - Lactation Educator Training - 1/21, 2/18, 3/18, 4/22, 5/20
Covers Basic Breastfeeding Management Techniques such as Positioning, Attachment, Physiology & Hormones of Breastfeeding, Milk Production, Common Breastfeeding Challenges, Counseling Skills, Creating A Prenatal Breastfeeding Class, Adult Learning Techniques, plus more
90 Hours - Comprehensive Lactation Ed - 6/17, 7/15, 8/19, 9/16, 10/21 Builds upon Basic Breastfeeding Management skills and knowledge, exploring all topics in-depth as would be required for an IBCLC® in practice
Attendance at all sessions is required. There are no make-up days scheduled in 2017. Participants will not be considered as having completed any course until all the scheduled hours have been attended. Certificates of attendance can be provided as appropriate.
(Individuals registering to attend only the first 5 sessions will be issued a certificate indicating their completion of a basic breastfeeding management course when they have completed the first 5 sessions.)

- o For Nurses: The Perinatal Advisory Council – Leadership, Advocacy and Consultation (PAC/LAC) is an approved provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing Provider CEP 5862. This course is approved for XX contact hours of continuing education credit.
