Description

Transitioning students to the demands of the PA Core Standards is not a job just for teachers in the tested grades! This three-day series will support teachers in the primary grades in aligning their instructional practices to the PA Core.

Learn more about how to:

  • Teach informational text, text structure, and text features
  • Create text-dependent questions
  • Perfect practices for close reading
  • Scaffold instruction using complex text
  • Help students annotate text
  • Design rigorous tasks at DOK levels 3 and 4
  • Build students' comprehension, inferential, and analysis skills
  • Implement instructional shifts into everyday pratice
  • Incorporate academic language into students' vocabularies

Series Dates:

  • January 18
  • February 15
  • March 8

Who should attend: Teachers in grades K-2; administrators may attend any or all sessions at no cost.

Cost: $150 for the three-day series
