Event description

Description

Please note: this is a two-day course that meets on Monday, June 3 AND Monday, June 10 from 6:00-9:00pm. The cost of the course is for BOTH days.

The production or repair of composites components is based on a series of procedures that begin with the handling of the raw materials and culminate with the final finishing of the product.

These procedures are often based on legacy experience that is passed down through generations of workers. Procedural “creep” or evolution may tend to develop over time, where the elements of how to execute the procedure overshadow the technical underpinnings for why the procedure is in place.

The knowledge of the science behind a procedural action is essential in developing methods that are optimized for quality production. This course explores the basic science that drives the step-by-step procedures used to optimize production or repair operations.

Participants will learn about the chemistry and properties at the foundations of the composites molding process. This information then provides the building blocks from which to develop the most informed operational procedures. These sessions detail a broad scope of materials handling and application methods that link practical application to the technical requirements of the process.

Course Schedule:

Monday, June 3: 6:00pm-9:00pm
Monday, June 10: 6:00pm-9:00pm
