Event description

Description

Complex Post Traumatic Stress (C-PTSD) also know as Developmental Trauma Disorder, involves individuals who have been exposed to prolonged acute and relational trauma over an extended period of time. Complex Post Traumatic Stress often involves a disrupted-disorganized attachment style, other co-occurring mental health issues, and elements of dissociation than can hinder regular trauma therapy. Personality disorders are rigid patterns and behaviors that are maladaptive and originate in early childhood as a result of relational-developmental trauma.

6 hours of Continuing Education

This course is designed to help therapists, medical professionals, and chaplains understand aspects of basic attachment theory, dissociation, and in more extreme cases the etiology and treatment of clients with a dissociative personality structure. While all are welcome to attend the course will be tailored for licensed psychotherapists and other medical professionals.
