Completing PIP Forms
What Is The Session About?
If the person you support is still currently receiving DLA, at some point soon they will probably be asked to change to PIP (Personal Independence Payment) which is replacing DLA.
The first part of this process is that the person or appointee will receive a letter asking them to get in touch and ‘inviting’ the person to apply for PIP. You must respond within a month or the DLA will stop. The next step is that the person will receive a detailed form to complete and return.
This will be a very practical session to help people look at each section of the form and understand what information can be included and where best to put it. Often families don’t realise how much help and support they are giving as it is just something they have been doing for many years so it is their ‘normal’.
The groups will be kept small to enable either Kirsty, Cathy or Dalia from the SCP workers to go through the forms thoroughly with all attendees.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Sheffield Mencap and Gateway's building is called Norfolk Lodge. Norfolk Lodge is down a lane opposite the Park Grange Croft tram stop and next to the old Norfolk Park School. Just look for the big white sign at the top of the drive. There is some parking on site and on the lane and surrounding roads.
