About this Event

Lion's Roar Dharma Center in Sacramento is happy to announce that Venerable Thubten Chodron, founder and abbess of the Sravasti Abbey, will be teaching in Sacramento, CA on April 10, 11 and 12, 2020.

Ven. Chodron will offer a public talk the evening of April 10th, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, entitled "Creating Compassionate Community." She will share some of her experiences establishing and maintaining Sravasti Abbey. The public talk will be held at the Sierra 2 Center Theater, 2791 24th Street, Sacramento, CA.

Ven. Chodron will offer a two-day workshop on April 11th and 12th, from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm both days, on “Skillful Compassion in Difficult Times.” This continues the theme of compassionate community as expressed in Venerable Chodron's poem "A Song to Mummy Tara in these Dire Times” that she wrote to Tara at the request of Dharma friends in Russia: https://thubtenchodron.org/2016/03/tara-song/. The Workshop will be held at the Do Nga Dargey Temple, 3240 B Street, Sacramento, CA.
