Event description

Description

Army Community Service is offering a course for the spouses of current or soon-to-be Company Commanders and First Sergeants for spouses to meet with their peers, share experiences, and receive current information from Subject Matter Experts. Your life changes when your Soldier takes command or responsibility of a company. Army Community Service can help prepare you by providing information and resources you’ll need in supporting Soldiers and Family members, communication skills you’ll use in solving problems and maintaining your relationship with your Soldier, and an opportunity to ask questions to those that have been through the situations you’re about to experience. You’ll learn about the structure of the Army and Fort Carson, the deployment cycle, customs and courtesies, coping through crises, character strengths and resilience, and more.

This is a 2-day class. Each day starts at 0900 and ends no later than 1600. Classes are either Monday/Tuesday (Feb, Aug) or Saturday/Monday (Dec, May, Nov).

Limited weekday childcare is available for children registered with CYS - reservations must be made in advance by calling 719-526-4028. If your plans change and you will not be attending the course, you must call back to cancel your childcare reservation.

Registration is required for Saturday events; must meet minimum registrations to hold the course.

In the case of a two hour delay due to inclement weather, classes will begin no earlier than 0930. If the roads on Fort Carson are closed, all classes scheduled for that day will be cancelled and rescheduled at a later date.
