Event description

Description

Capitol Region Watershed District (CRWD) and District 10 Como Community Council are cohosting a hands-on workshop to scout locations for the next wave of boulevard rain gardens. Rain gardens collect and filter polluted street runoff before it reaches Como Lake. They also add beauty to your neighborhood and provide food and habitat for birds and butterflies.

As part of the workshop, participants will explore the neighborhood and learn how to identify locations for boulevard rain gardens. CRWD staff will use the information to follow up with residents about installing a free boulevard rain garden on their property in 2019-2020.

Participants should be dressed in comfortable walking shoes and clothing for the weather.

11:30 am - 12 pm Report your findings and refreshments
