CommunityShare - Workshop for Educators
Event Information
Description
Are you a K-12 teacher looking to make “real-world” learning and careers come alive in your class? Find STEM professionals, artists, businesses, organizations, academics, and community leaders ready to share their experiences and expertise with your students!
This workshop will:
-- Explore concrete examples of how to integrate project-based learning with “real-world” community connections
-- Demonstrate the use of Community Share online platform
-- Provide hands-on activities that will help you incorporate these strategies and tools into your own classroom
In this interactive workshop on Community-Based Teaching, participants will hear how to plan a Gold Standard Project-Based Learning Unit and see examples of how powerful PBL can be when combined with community partners and resources. If you are not already a member of CommunityShare, we will help you to sign up on CommunityShare, a free online platform that connects educators to community partners.
