Community Wellbeing Event
Overview
Join us for an informal community event at The Fold, Bransford, Worcester, UK!This is an opportunity to take the first steps towards connecting with others in your community and to take some time for yourself and prioritise your wellbeing.
Over the winter months, join us for some introductory sessions on wellbeing techniques and some mindful crafting activities.
January Event Information: Join us For a gentle chanting session
For this session, we'll be meeting in The Natural Therapy Centre at the Fold, led by one of our volunteers, Zoe.
Chanting can be used as a meditative practice to engage the mind in a subtle but powerful way, developing our ability to concentrate. With practice, it can make a profound contribution to peace of mind. Each of us has a unique voice: why not explore yours, build your confidence in gentle use of sound within the structure of a chant and so discover the benefits for wellbeing that this can offer?
One of our regular volunteers, Zoe Herington, has been studying Vedic chanting for the past 15 years; and, for the past 8 years, she has trained to become a teacher of chanting with one of India’s leading teachers, Sheela Shankar of Yoga Nidhi, Chennai. Our meetups are always free to join, but we will need to limit numbers to make sure we have enough space for seats for everyone!
Having a go at some different experiences is a great way of focusing our minds on the present - a key element of mindfulness. Giving our brains new skills to learn is a powerful way of building confidence and helps to improve our mental wellbeing. It's also a great way of discovering new interests and different ways to look after ourselves.
Refreshments will be provided during the activity.
Spaces will be limited for this one to make sure we have enough materials and room for everyone!

Each event may differ in it's content. Participation is voluntary. If you have a pre-existing medical conditions, please seek advice from a GP or qualified medical practitioner and make a volunteer aware at the start of the event if you require any support or think it would be helpful for a volunteer to be aware of any relevant information. Group Purpose:We aim to connect with anyone who would benefit from being around others, to connect, be in the moment and take some time out from the pressures of life. The sessions are aimed at people aged over 18.
