Event Details

This event is an opportunity for Ada students, community technical professionals, and community learners to get together for a fun and informative evening.  It will be an expansion of our regular Thursday evening After Hours, offering the same great mix of attendees, but with some structured opportunities for networking and learning. We hope that some community members who are interested in helping out with Ada but are not regular volunteers will be able to attend.

Schedule:

4-5pm Team trivia challenge

Mixed teams of students, learners, and professionals will compete in a trivia game that should challenge their knowledge of a broad range of technical topics and allow them the fun of working together to succeed.

5-5:30pm Social time

Mingle and enjoy some snacks.

5:30-6:30pm Presentation by Adam Monsen & Eva Monsen on big data, followed by Q&A

Eva Monsen will discuss her experience working with big data at BigDoor.com. Adam Monsen will give a presentation on Hadoop. See bios below.

Community Learner tickets are reserved for our friends who are currently teaching themselves to program, and are hoping to apply to Ada Developers Academy. Community Professional tickets are reserved for technical professionals who are excited about networking with Ada students.
