Common Ground’s Sit-A-Thon

The most blissful fundraiser Charlottesville has ever experienced – a Community Sit-A-Thon to benefit Common Ground Healing Arts.

On Saturday, July 13th, Common Ground will be hosting its 2nd annual Sit-a-Thon, a community meditation event. Both experienced meditators and those who have never meditated and would like to learn the basics are welcome.

SIT DOWN:  HELP YOURSELF AND SOMEONE ELSE! 

  • Have you ever wanted to learn how to meditate?
  • Are you an experienced meditator who’d like to put that skill to good use?
  • Please mark your calendars for July 13th for an exciting community meditation event to benefit Common Ground!
  • This event, styled much like a Walk-A-Thon, invites you, the participant, to use or learn a skill for a good cause.
 

Date: July 13, 2013

Time: 9-11 am

Cost: By donation (tax deductible). Please bring cash or check with you on the day of.

Location: The Haven in Downtown Charlottesville (a beautiful sanctuary space)

Details:  Pat Coffey, a Senior Teacher in the Insight Meditation tradition, will lead a two-hour community meditation.There will be periods of walking and standing--we will not be seated for more than 20 minutes at a time. Chairs are available, or you can bring a cushion to sit on the floor. A reception will follow.
