Community Sacred Fire and Potluck

By Mary Beth Robinson

Overview

In times of challenge and uncertainty, Fire's medicine helps people find connection, courage and life purpose.

FOR OUR ANCESTORS, fire was the center of community, where stories were told, community issues were resolved, and people came to refocus, renew and process the events of their lives.

Welcome to Sacred Fire East Tennessee. I am part of a growing network of trained and initiated Firekeepers bringing back a process to help remove emotional blocks creating better connections within ourselves, others and the world through Fire and Spirit. We are participating in the oldest known form of human support and connection through coming together and receiving spiritual help from the presence of a Sacred Fire.

Parking: You are welcome to park along the street or pull up behind cars parked in the carport. Please do not park in space designated "Tree House Guest." This space is reserved for our Airbnb guests. Once parked, please follow fence to left of house and follow path to back hearth area.

Potluck and Social Time starts at 6:00 - Fire to follow: 7:30 - 9:30

Please bring a dish to share. We will provide water and tea.

What to Bring for the Fire:

  • A poem or story that expresses what you are currently experiencing.
  • Water bottle.
  • Dress for the weather; In case of rain, we have shelter.
  • Donation to support the FIRE FUND.

Please leave at home:

  • furry friends
  • alcoholic beverages
  • recreational/illegal drugs (not permitted on property)
  • firearms (not permitted on the property)

The Offerings: We open the Fire with a brief ceremony, one we've been given ancestral permission, and is a form of exchange with the Spirit of Fire and honors the five directions. Once the offerings are given to the fire, it is considered consecrated. The offerings help create a safe container and a personal way to honor the evening's experience. It allows for a deeper connetion to one another and to give thanks for the heart energy of Fire.

RSVP is required to attend this event.

PLEASE SUPPORT the community with a donation. Thanks for helping raise funds to keep the fires burning! If coming to the fires is valuable to you, please show it with a donation. $5 is always appreciated. Contributions help to support monthly Mailchimp subscription, purchase firewood, offerings, tarps, and raise funds to attend annual Firekeeper trainings.
