Description

The workshop is designed to address the most frequently asked questions and concerns about this quickly expanding subject.
Parents will increase their capacity to embrace their child's individual sense of their gender and how their child can help create a gender inclusive school community.
Explore the unique role school plays in respecting each child's individuality.
Reflect, ask questions, and share personal insights.
Since 2001, Olivia Higgins has applied her teaching and advocacy skills to guide schools to better support people of all genders and sexualities. She has trained thousands of professionals and families, has taught gender and sexuality lessons in pre-K thru 12th grade classes, consulted for schools throughout the Bay Area, and has supported dozens of student and faculty gender transitions. At the district level, Olivia has provided extensive services for Oakland Unified, San Francisco Unified, and Alameda Unified. She is proud to be publishing her first picture book, Stonewall: Our March Continues this Spring.
